XXXI ART MEDAL WORLD CONGRESS
TAMPERE, FINLAND - June 15-19, 2010
The city of Tampere and Tampere Art Museum will host the next FIDEM congress in 2010. Tampere
Art Museum is well known in Finland for its art medal collections. The Finnish delegate, Mr Tapio
Suominen, vice-president of the Guild of Medallic Art in Finland and curator of the Tampere Museum of Art
will be the main contact for this congress.
The city of Tampere is known as the theatre capital of Finland. It is situated in southern Finland between
two lakes, Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärvi. Tampere is dubbed the "Manchester of Finland" for its industrial past.
There are direct flights from Copenhagen, Stockholm, Riga, London and fast train and bus links from all over Finland.
The capital of Finland, Helsinki is at two hours by train.
For accommodation there's a great deal of choice,
from charming little hotels and hostels to five-star luxury hotels.
The FIDEM exhibition will be held at Tampere Art Museum and lectures at Tampere Hall congress and concert centre.
